from an economic maturation point of view.

First off, I ponder that Herndon is a pretty nice place. There has been an illegal immigrant problem, but that doesn't really affect the older estabished neighorhoods and certainly not the zip code areas. It's a real town with a real history. The downtown is still intact and the good bones and many the multi-generations of residents are still there. I blame a lot of the "issues" on the western part, i.e. the Loudoun County: Sterling/Sterling Park area where country use issues (cheap, unpleasant housing) has allowed for a more poor element to come in. Herndon is also getting a nice hotel to assist revitalize the downtown and a Metro station will eventually service it.

Enter NOVA's second homosexual bar. Fairfax County's first gay bar builds a following in Herndon . Gay bars are related with gentrification. They are often located in fringe areas where the affluent alternative lifestyle crowd moves in an improves the area. The problem is that I don't assess that Herndon is race down enough to qualify for that status

Since its opening in late , the pop-up bar has been a beloved fixture in Del Ray, but its transformation into Event on the Avenue has given it new being and purpose. “Pride [on the Avenue] is a cocktail celebration of the many sexualities in our world as well as a showcase of inclusion and openness in our company, neighborhood of Del Ray, and City of Alexandria,” said Blackburn, highlighting the bar’s role in fostering a welcoming environment.
The decision to extend Self-acceptance on the Avenue’s operate was influenced by the enthusiastic response from patrons and the pressing demand for more

As a conservative gay male (yes we exist) who once lived in Herndon I dont see what the big hype is about a gay bar, gays are everywhere these days and people seem to be accepting it more and more. One of the reasons I chose to move to the Northern Va/Dc area was to be in a place where people didnt really care about my sexuality, even though I am not one to be affectionate to my partner in public (just because that is not me) I know that people dont really offer a crap about who I date around here, they are so hectic with their own animation that they dont even notice half the moment. So an irish pub just opened across from it, how come people didnt get mad about that? Look its just another bar wether its a gay bar or not it dosnt matter.. as far as Herndon being run down: I dissagree. Herndon does contain some rough spots here and there and I didnt particularly enjoy living in Herndon, I sense its just the complex I lived in that I didnt like; and I perfer where I live in Centreville but I do miss the old town Herndon area. The Eldon street
