Are merry and pippin gay

[Disclaimer: Obviously this is totally irrelevant to the server. That's beside the point. If you don't feel like this is a topic worth engaging in, simply don't involve in it.]

This is a topic that has been hotly debated both in-game and on Discord, and a few weeks ago I found myself in just such a debate. (This is how it went down: one party made a joke about gay Elves. Another party immediately took offence and insisted that the mere idea of gay Elves breaks canon. And so an argument began.) The debate seemed to conclude on the conclusion that Elves can only be heterosexual because they are (to simply matters) biologically primed to conform to Tolkien’s orthodox Catholic views. However, the arguments given never sat well with me, so I wanted badly to revisit this topic, and this period in a setting much more controlled and simple to keep track of: the forums. (It only took me so drawn-out because I had builds to work on.)

What I will be doing in this post is to quote all the relevant arguments, and refute them as best I can, and concede where I can’t. So-doing I will attempt to demonstrate how, despite whatever Tolkien’s retain views may have bee

Yeah, the Arwen being 13 thing is terrible....

A couple people have mentioned the sexual Aragorn/Arwen/Boromir scene as something that’s ALMOST valid ) because it ends with Aragorn and Boromir having a passionate makeout session-- gay rights, etc---

BUT people were understandably so distracted by Everything Else that they missed the unveil that this version of Arwen is randomly a child.

For those of you who haven’t read it--- what happens is that Arwen goes up to Aragorn and Boromir and is like“you guys demand to get along so I’ll bind you as blood brothers in a magical ritual.” Then she does what @cowboyeowyn described-- kissing a sword so that her lips bleed, then kissing both of them on the lips and then having them kiss each other.

1. wow u really wrote a justification into ur script for two grown-ass mature person men to kiss a literal child

2.They wanted this shock-value moment of two men kissing, but also wanted to make sure you understood it wasn’t gay. So they added some stupid ritual where the two men kissed a literal child first so that you would understand the kiss was supposed to be understood as platonic.

“I’m not queer , it’s just a 13 year

"Repressed hobbit homoeroticism"

I've read just about every ROTK review posted on the internet so far, and a handful of them possess mentioned, in an otherwise serious context, the "homosexual" undertone of the hobbits. Here is one example, and I've seen it mentioned in about 3 or 4 other reviews.

Ok, I understand how it's sorta funny to imagine the scenario in a purely facetious way; those diary entries posted here a few days ago really cracked me up. But I just can't believe professional feature critics are putting this bullshit in their reviews. Maybe it's just society's current fascination with, and hyper sensitivity to homosexuality. If two men hold a close relationship, they're obviously gay, right? Peter Jackson's intentions were NOT to hint at a sexual relationship between Sam and Frodo, and I'm pretty ****ing sure it wasn't Tolkien's either. But in this day and age, people can't sound to accept that two males can have a close, loving relationship purely as friends. Tolkien's purpose for the hobbits was to represent purity, innocence, and friendship. Making ridiculous statements like this in a professional review totally undermines the work of both Jackson and T

i share amaries point of view....,about shelob being the queen....,originally the figure of the queen in the chess game was not just merely a woman, but it was also the representation of all the power arround her, as a diplomat...,and therefore the sorcerer-king-of angmar would be the best fitting there as the queen....,but that does not mean that he has to be a female....it means that it is sauron’s right hand...,the power where he laid all the responsability of protecting the kingdom....,as it was supposed to be with queens in the middle age....they are just representative figures of power in a game where politics are the main game....strategy where most of the times the queen was not a woman, but the representation of another "tool" that the king could use....,like in order to have .....’alligances?(is it correct????)....or to serve as a political carrier, like ministers are nowadays....

i was thinking on what you said Halo-Black.....and it seems to be you have got a point....but....do you not think that combats as they are in mortal Kombat would be great for the fight betwen morgoth and fingolfin..... .....well, it is just a simple thought.
