Drake is one of the industry’s most established rappers, and the rap legend is constantly making headlines for one reason or another. The Canadian rapper’s sexuality has been in question many times over the years because of his confusing lyrics. However, after the release of his latest album, For All the Dogs the speculations of Drake entity gay have risen astronomically.
How did fans start questioning Drake’s sexuality?
Drake is one of the finest rappers in the industry at the moment and all of his studio albums have been a part of Billboard 200 on their release. The hip-hop rapper has even won five Grammy Awards throughout his career spanning over 2 decades. Although he is one of the foremost lyricists and hip-hop rappers at the moment, some of his songs hold had some questionable lyrics throughout the years which have raised suspicions around the sexuality of the rapper.

A rapper who was once signed to Drake’s OVO Sound label came out as gay on Twitter last week.
Makonnen Sheran, finest known as iLoveMakonnen, tweeted: “As a fashion star, I can’t tell u about everybody else’s closet, I can only explain u about mine, and it’s time I’ve show up out.
“And since y’all adore breaking news, here’s some old news to crack, I’m gay.”

The 27-year-old Atlanta native had a Top 20 hit, “Tuesday,” after the track was remixed by Drake.
iLoveMakonnen was then signed to OVO Sound and he released two albums. Last April, he announced that he was no longer with Drake’s label.
On Sunday, iLoveMakonnen took to Twitter to thank fans "for your Real Love and continued support."
Only two days before iLoveMakonnen came out, Chance The Rapper’s brother and collaborator Taylor Bennett announced on Twitter that he identifies as bisexual.
"Moving into next year I'd prefer to be more unseal about myself to aide others that struggle with the same issues," Bennett, 21, tweeted.

Audiences have had the feels for Atlanta-bred crooner-rapper ILoveMakonnen since 2014. Known for a dreamy brand of club-hop, via such tracks as “I Don’t Buy Molly No More,” ILoveMakonnen got the attention of Drake with his tune “Tuesdays,” and the superstar rapper later did a guest feature on a remix version. In small order, ILoveMakonnen was signed to Drake’s OVO Sound imprint.
But things went from rosy to rough as ILoveMakonnen found himself dissatisfied with the label’s view of his place and his music. He left dramatically and moved to OVO’s parent company, Warner Brothers (now Warner Records), in 2016, only to face similar obstacles.
For his 32nd birthday earlier this month, ILoveMakonnen gave himself a present: a unused label (Own Timeless Magic) and a new album, “My Parade,” which returns the artist to the harmony–heavy soul and folk that he started his career with, independently, in 2011.

Now, while I’m not usually one to indulge or entertain theories and discussions regarding a celebrity’s sexuality, it is curious to see just how incredibly invested people are in Drake’s romantic relationships. That being said, we all know that the rapper has always had a way of capturing audiences’ attention—whether that be through his music, general declarations, or dumb mistakes.
So, with all of the respect we can muster, I think it’s worth gathering all of the evidence once and for all. Is Drake gay? And even if he is, why on land do we all feel to care so much?
