Kailyn Lowry and Jo Rivera are supporting son Elliot amid his personal chapter.
After the couple’s 15-year-old—who previously went byIsaac before deciding Elliot, his middle name, feels more fond of him—came out as homosexual during a two-part series on the Teen Mom alum’s Barely Famous podcast, Kailyn and Jo had a “good conversation.”
“He said that he listened to the episodes,” Kailyn explained toParade in an interview published June 18. “He was really proud of Elliott, and he said that he was happy.”
And Kailyn—also mom to Lincoln, 11 with ex Javi Marroquin, Lux, 7 and Creed, 4, with former spouse Chris Lopez, Rio, 2, and twins Verse and Valley, 20 months with fiancé Elijah Scott—said her ex was supportive of their son’s choice to come out on her podcast, specifically.
“He was perfectly fine with the questions that were being asked,” the 33-year-old explained of her son appearing on the podcast to say his story. “He understands why Elliot wanted to do it.”

During Javi's trip home from Tech university he, Kail and Isaac went to a photographer and participated in a photo shoot - the theme of which was gay rights. Kail has always been a pleased and public supporter of this issue, and jumped at the opportunity to use her infamy to raise awareness. Along with 2 other models and dressed in her wedding gown, the family posed for a series of different pictures including the one above (beautiful!) and this one of Kail and a woman.
The photograph that has upset Jo so much, was this one of Issac and Javi with another man. The picture is in support of same-sex attracted couples adopting and raising children together.

Kailyn's oldest son told fans he has decided to start going by his middle name, Elliott, and spoke out about his personal life for the first time.

"I started going by Elliott, because at some point, I wasn't happy with my first name," he said on the Friday, June 6 episode. "It just doesn't feel like me."
Kailyn said she believes he prefers Elliott to separate who he was on MTV as a youngster, and who he is now. Elliott agreed that was at least partially true.
Elliott also said he wanted to speak out about his sexual orientation for the first day publicly, and disclosed he identifies as gay.
