Therehasto be some significance in the fact that June is the month to honor both the LGBTQ community and black harmony.

As festivals are entity held throughout the society this June in honor of LGBTQ Pride Month, homage is simultaneously entity paid to black melody pioneers in acknowledgement of Black Music Month.

While already facing the ever-present challenges inherent to blackness, a number of shadowy musicians have still been gallant enough to claim sexual identities that could hamper their success.

So in honor of these black artists who are boldly standing in their truth, we’ve rounded up 15 musicians of hue who are unapologetically here and queer.

The Atlanta native who emboldened us to think clubbing on “Tuesday” was acceptable in 2014 performed a bolder act this January when he announced that he was gay.

Given the hip-hop community’s reputation of homophobia, which is particularly geared towards lgbtq+ men, iLoveMakkonen’s decision to come out to the public was commendably unapologetic.

Dear Dr. Howell,

A friend called my attention to the video you posted on YouTube for your congregation. I consider you to be an informed and thoughtful person, which makes your gross misrepresentation of the Traditional Plan and those who support it appear to be not just a mistake but a purposeful mischaracterization of the motives and character of your brothers and sisters in Christ.

We may well spot the issues of marriage and sexuality in unlike ways, but there is no reason to dial into question the personality and motives of those we disagree with.

At one point in the video, you describe Traditional Intend supporters as “not your kind of conservative” to the conservative members of your congregation. Frankly, the persons described in your video are not my kind of conservative either. In fact, I own never met anyone in The United Methodist Church who conforms to the ugly caricature you contain labored so hard to create.

As one of the primary authors and the submitter of the Traditional Plan, allow me to address a few of the misstatements you construct in your video, with the hope of correcting the record and enabling your listeners to obtain a more accurate picture of the

How police caught James Howell before he attacked a gay pride parade

SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- A resident of Santa Monica, California thought a prowler was in their neighborhood. That's how police thwarted what could have been Sunday's second terror attack on the LGBT community.

Police were called early in the morning, just before 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time (8:00 a.m. Eastern) after someone said a man was knocking on a door and window of a home.

When officers arrived, Santa Monica Police Main person Jacqueline Seabrooks says they found James Howell, 20, inside a car registered to Indiana.

James is from New Albany, though a Facebook page that appears to be his says he currently lives in Jeffersonville.
