One fan posted on tumblr:

the lgbt fans of 21p arent starting drama for no reason.. we are anxious. we want to perceive supported by people we idolize. we want to know if people we spend hundreds of dollars on and support unconditionally love us in the same way. the truth that you think us saying “i am scared because tyler and josh havent shown explicit aid for me and people like me” is us just starting drama is incredibly telling.

i dont take care of if same-sex marriage is a “hot button” issue that tyler and josh want to stay away from. we are on the right side of history here and staying silent about it IS sending a message. we’re scared! we want to feel like they approve us! and if there are tons of us who are genuinely terrified over this, thats a serious issue.

Tyler and Josh On Male lover Marriage

Recently a few online friends and I got into an argument over twenty one pilots. He kept on saying that they were homophobic and didn’t support gay marriage, and I got a bit sad. Because, on the surface, they might seem that way. They haven’t made a utterance on twitter about the legalization of gay marriage, they haven’t taken a part in many big scenes that relate to lgbtq communities, and overall haven’t said much.

Now, look at Tyler and Josh.

They were both raised by extremely conservative christian families, and they grew up with the whole anti-gay perspective. I mean, Josh wasn’t even allowed to hear to Green Day as a teenager. That’s how conservative his house is.

Now, look at this upload that tyler

And now Twenty One Pilots have somehow joined the jokes thanks to a satirical Washington Post article which envisions what Straight Pride would look like.

“The first float is a boiling tub with two bros sitting in it, five feet apart, because they are not gay!” it reads. “Next come hundreds of dads in flannel, furiously chopping wood because they are unsure how to connect with their sons about their feelings. Next comes a b
